Hi! I’m Beth and my passion for wanderlust and solo travel started on my first solo trip to Vietnam at 17 years old. In 2016, after getting sober, I moved to Bangkok, Thailand and enjoyed the most incredible expat life there. I have since moved back to my hometown of New York City & now enjoy a slower, nomadic way way of travel so I can truly appreciate the each destination & fully immerse myself in the culture. I made this page to share everything from sober life & mocktail recipes to high end/luxury travel accommodations & travel itineraries. I hope it reminds you that there is life after sobriety and inspires you to travel more!

Hi, I’m Beth! I was born and raised here in NYC, which still remains my home base. I fell in love with traveling as a kid, but probably the biggest game changer for me was my first solo trip, going on a 6 week community service trip from South to North Vietnam, the summer before my senior year of high school.

If you would have told me 10 years ago that I would make it this long alcohol free, I would have told you that you were out of your mind. I thought alcohol made both myself and everything else more fun. I thought it made me more social, & made me a happier, better version of myself. I remember thinking things in early sobriety like there’s no way I’ll ever be able to get married and NOT be able to have a glass of champagne to celebrate.

Not gonna lie, when I first tried Free Spirits Tequila I did a bit of a double take because it not only tasted like real tequila but was also strong AF. This was my first time experimenting with making my own mocktail recipes, but with years of experience managing restaurants, I wasn’t TOTALLY clueless.
