Happy Friday! I hope you all have had a good week. I have quite a odd assortment of favorites to share with you today so I apolgize in advance at how odd they might seem:) Okay…here we go!
The Weekend Slouchy Top from Stella & Dot This off the sholder top with gold details is perfect for date night! I don’t own a lot of green either so this is a nice change for me. The fabric is very soft and has a bit of stretch to it also.
Haagen-Dazs Non-Dairy Chocolate Fudge Bar I have been dairy free for about a year and have had a hard time finding an ice cream treat that I thought was good…until now! Holy cow these are good…so good that I double checked the box the first time I tried them to make sure I picked up the non-dairy kind. Highly recommend!!!!
It Cosmetics Heavenly Skin Brush I have tried quite a few foundation brushes and this one works best for me. It gives good coverage and never has left my makeup looking streaky and the brush is super soft.
Sharper Image Silicon Ice Sphere Molds I originally purchased these for my husband to use in his drinks, but I started putting them in my daughters Yeti since she has practice after school and they last all day! I take them out of the freezer and let them set out for about 10 minutes before I pop them out and they seem to come out easier that way.
Okay there they are, my top picks for the week. I’d love to know what your favorites are!
Hi! Today I wanted to share some new releases from Stella & Dot for October. There were quite a few items that were recently released, but I’m going to share just a few of my top picks with you. If your interested in seeing the entire new collection please visit my site stelladot.com/bethsigala
Leopard Scarf This scarf is so pretty! I love that it is grey with hints of creamy white and pink.
Stars Align Climbers I admit I really love climber earrings. They are kinda edgy, but totally wearable anytime and they are a nice change from stud earrings. These earrings are too cute with the stars and feel featherweight on the ears!
Rebel Bracelet-Pink Ombre This bracelet is part of the Shop for the Cause Breast Cancer collection and has a georgous ombre effect! It has 112 Swarovski stones in it and comes in a beautiful rose gold. Even better, September 24-October 31, 2019 Stella & Dot will donate 20% of the retail purchase price of eligible sales to Bright Pink, an organization focused on prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women. (Click here to see the entire Shop for the Cause collection)
Puff sleeve Pullover in Blush All the comforts of a terry sweatshirt, but with some feminine details to make it look a little dressier. For a more relaxed fit I’d order one size up.
Okay, those are my top picks. There are A LOT of new items that have been realeased and more to come very soon so stay tuned! Please let me know what you think and if you have any questions I’d be happy to help you out.
Hello:) Today I want to share one of my favorite desserts that I like to make in the Fall. (Last week I was talking about making this too!) This cake is so yummy and has been one of my favorite desserts ever since my mom would make it when I was a little girl. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! It’s pretty easy to make (the most time consuming thing is cutting up the apples) and your house will smell SOOOOO good while it’s baking… so worth it!
Okay so here’s what you’ll need…
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. oil (I used Canola)
2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs (beaten)
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 tsp. salt
3 c. flour
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
3 c. apples (peeled & chopped)
1-2 tsp. powdered sugar (optional for top)
Combine sugar, oil, vanilla, eggs and salt in mixing bowl. Beat until combined. Mix flour, baking soda and cinnamon in separate bowl and then combine with first mixture. Stir in apples. Scoop mixture into a greased tube or bundt pan (it will be thick).
Bake at 325 degrees for about 1 1/2 hrs. or until cake tester comes out clean.
And here is the finished product. This cake is yummy served alone or with a light dusting of powdered sugar on top too! Enjoy.
Aveda Damage Remedy This daily hair repair is a lightweight leave in treatment that helps repair damaged hair, reduce breakage AND its a heat protectant too. I like that it’s lightweight and just a little amount goes a long way. Easy to use too…just work a small amount in towel dried hair & comb it through.
Olaplex Bonding Oil I have heard rave reviews about Olaplex shampoo and conditioner and I haven’t tried them yet…but this oil is wonderful!!! It good for all hair types (I have fine hair and it doesn’t weigh down my hair at all) and it helps protect color treated hair, fight frizz and provides heat protection.. I like that this can be used on damp and dry hair. I love to use it after I style my hair to smooth out any frizz and it helps smooth the end of my hair.
Clinique Pop LipColor I have worn Clinique lipstick off and on since I was in high school and I admit it’s been awhile since I have, but every time I put this color on I’m reminded how good their lipsticks are! The are never drying on my lips and they have a huge selection on colors and finishes…anyway this color (Beige Pop) is a great nude with a very slight pink undertone. I fill in my lips with neutral lipliner (right now I’m loving Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk liner) and then I apply the lipstick and it looks great!
Essie Nail Polish in Seeking Stars If your looking for a great dark bronze color with the slightest hint of shimmer this is the color for you! It screams fall and makes me want to put on a sweater and booties…but that’ll have to wait for now since today’s high is 90!!!
Okay, there you have it a few of my favorites for the week. We have a busy weekend of sports, but I’m hoping I get a chance to get in the kitchen and whip up one of my families favorite desserts…apple cake! What are your plans for the weekend? Whatever they are I hope you have a great weekend.
Happy Friday! It has been quite a week…both of my girls are back in school and I think I’m finally in the groove of things now that my oldest is in high school (sniff, sniff!) and at a different school than my youngest! There are lots of sports tryouts and back to school meeting going on too, but today I wanted to get back to sharing some of my favorite things.
Market Salad from Chick-fil-a This salad is sooo good! I have to admit I never got a salad from here…until the other week and I’m so glad I did! This salad is really tasty and comes with fruit, nuts and the Zesty Apple Cider Vinaigrette dressing is wonderful. Highly recommend giving it a try!
L’Occitane Lip Balm I bought this when we were on vacation and I couldn’t find my lip balm in my purse. I really like the way it feels on my lips; moisturizing but not stickey. (Side note-I ended up finding my other lip balm burried in the bottom of my purse, but kept using this one and it was great!)
Birthday Cake Granola from Safe and Fair I bought this a few weeks ago for my daughter who is Gluten Free. It tasted great straight out of the bag. Needless to say, she loves it, my other daughter loves it AND my hubs and I love it too! Really great tasting and it’s free of the top 8 allergies! I will say shipping was a little slow, but worth it!
Tarte Rainforest of the Sea salt lyfe lip duo I got this and have been wearing it just about every day. This set comes with both a full size lipstick and a full size lip gloss. The lip stick and gloss are beautiful on their own or together and are really moisturizing.
Bath and Body Works Heirloom Apple Wallflower This (in my opinion) is the perfect “fall is almost here” scent! It is a combination of Golden Honeycrisp, Apple Blossom, Fresh Sugarcane. If you like apple scents this scent is for you!
Okay, so there you have it! I hope you all have a great weekend and I’d love to know about some of your favorites. Be sure to comment below so I can check them out!
Hello! I know I’ve been abscent from my blog, but I’m ready to be back! It was a very busy summer and now that school has officially started for both of my girls I’m ready to get back to it! I LOVE having my girls home for summer break, but I did notice myself wanted to have some sort of a routine so that is what I’m going to focus on.
First, I really want to be better about meal planning for dinner. Both of my girls play sports and since my oldest started high school this year (sigh) I’m now driving around more than ever so if I could have the “what’s for dinner” question ahead of time that would be a HUGE help . I’ll be busy pinning some ideas on Pinterest ( if your not following me there, make sure you are!!! pinterest.com/bethsigala1 ) If you have any tips or tricks you want to share about meal planning please comment below…I’ll take all the help I can get:)
Another thing I really want to work on is some form of excercise. I have a love/hate relationship with going to the gym, but I really need to just do it! Ideally I would love to go right after I drop my girls off at school…to be continued! I just need to do it! Anybody else have the same problem??? Ok, maybe this cute shoes I just go in the mail will motivate me. They are so cute and unbelievably comfortable!
I feel like the beginning of the school year is a chance for me to reset just like my girls do in school. Now I’m off…the weather is cooler than usual here so I’m taking advantage of it and getting out for a walk! Have a great day.
Happy April! I’ve found it easier to make monthly goals for a few reasons. First (and most importantly) I think that setting goals each month helps keep me on track. Obviously there are some goals that will require a lot more effort than only one month, so I keep my monthly goals practical so I’m more likely to keep them:) I thought I’d share my goals for the month with you.
Post to my Instagram account more consistently. I’m not always the best at remembering to do that, but I would like to be better. Sometimes I just don’t think about it or think that what I’m doing isn’t exactly “picture-worthy”, but sometimes it just nice to document or share something just because sooo I’m going to try to be better. Speaking of Instagram…are you following me? If not, please do! instagram.com/bethsigala
Read more. I have a list of book recommendations in my phone, but I haven’t read anything in a few months. I love that feeling I get when I’m so into what I’m reading that I can’t seem to put the book down! Any book suggestions for me?
Clean out my closet. Now is the perfect time to go through my closet since the weather is changing and (fingers crossed!!!) the temps are not so bitterly cold. It’s the perfect time to start packing up my winter clothes and to donate items that I didn’t wear or don’t want. There is something about walking into a freshly cleaned and organized closet that I LOVE!
So there are my 3 goals for April. I know none of them are life changing, but it makes me feel organized and accomplished…who knows I could complete all of them and add more if I wanted:) I’ll be sure to update everyone to let you know how it went. Do you set monthly goals? If so I’d love to hear about them or maybe after reading this you’ll want to join me too!!! If so let me know in the comments so we can hold each other accountable.
I kept hearing such great things about the TULA Pro-Glycolic Resurfacing Gel I decided to give it another try…as you can see from my review below it made me break out…BUT I stuck with it and used it everyday and after day 7 I didn’t experience any more breakouts. I think this toner was just helping to bring all of the gunk (technically term :)) to the surface. I have grown to absolutely love this and use it every morning. My skin feels softer, more pores appear smaller and my skin has a nice glow to it! I’m so impressed my all of the TULA products I’ve used and I can’t recommend them enough to family and friends!
A few months ago I started seeing a lot of advertising for TULA skin care. I was intrigued for a few reasons. Mainly because it’s a cleaner skincare brand that uses probiotics and superfoods and DOES NOT contain any parabens, toxins, mineral oil, sulfates or harmful preservatives. I started doing some research and decided to buy a few items to try out. For reference I’m 41 (eek), combination skin and I breakout easily. Here are my honest thoughts on the products I bought.
Glow & Get It Cooling and Brightening Eye Balm I love how cooling this stick is when I apply it. I still use an eye cream, but I apply this before I put on my primer. It is in a stick form and gives my undereye area a slight illuminating look. The directions say it can be applied over makeup too, but I found it made my under eye area looked cakey so I’ll stick to putting it on before makeup or even on no makeup days. (This keeps selling out on their website, but it has been getting restocked pretty fast so be sure to check back if it is.)
Purifying Facial Cleanser I’ve been using this in the morning and I like how gentle it feels and the smell is light and fresh (love it!). My face feels clean, but not dry and a little goes a long way!
Aqua Infusion Oil-Free Gel Cream I have combo skin and I thought this would be great for my skin (lightweight, fast absorbing), but when I used this my skin felt like it need a little more moisture. I think the cold temps we have continued to have here in the Midwest might have a lot to do with it so I’ll give it a try when the weather gets warmer. My daughters found it in my bathroom and really like it though so I think I’ll have to go search in their bathroom when the temperature starts to rise so I can try it again:)
Exfoliating Treatment Mask WOW-that’s the first word that comes to mind about this mask! From the first time I used it I knew I’d love it. My skin feels so soft and clean after I remove this mask, but not tight and dry. I use it 2-3 times a week and seriously look forward to using it!
Pro-Glycolic Resurfacing Gel I have mixed feelings about this toner. I haven’t used a toner in years and I kept reading articles about how important toner is and all of the anti-aging benefits they provide, so I decided to give it a try… but every time I use this toner my face breaks out! I think I’ll check their website to see if they have another toner option I can try. (PLEASE SEE UPDATE ABOVE)
Hydrating Day and Night Cream Well, the name pretty much sums this moisturizer up! This is what I tried afer the Gel Cream (see above) didn’t seem to provide enough moisture for my skin. It’s lightweight, but moisturizing and it just makes my skin look and feel good! I use it in the morning and at night after I apply my retinol.
I have started a list of other TULA products I’d like to try, but so far I’ve loved 5/6 of the items I’ve used. Have you tried any of their products? I’d love to know what you tried and your thoughts- let me know!
All the new arrivals from Stella & Dot are here and I wanted to share my top choices with you. I’m sharing my top favorites, but go to my website stelladot.com/bethsigala for all of the new arrivals!
Navy Semi Circle Beaded Clutch I LOVE this clutch! The beautiful embellishments and the amazing detail make this clutch stand out. It also has a gold zipper and a tassel zipper pull. Warning-this clutch is limited edition so don’t wait if your intrested in adding this beauty to your collection!
Filigree Earrings-Botanical These pretty earrings are gold-plated in a shiny warm finish and will look great with everything. Best part is that they are featherweight so you won’t feel like your ear is being pulled down!
Addy Versatile Poncho Not only is this poncho one of our top-selling tops, it also comes in other colors (black, blush, charcoal and light heather grey) It has a flattering exaggerated, oversized fit that works good with all body types.
Engravable Gateway Bag This bag is perfect an overnight or weekend trip and it is engravable too!!! It has an expanding zipper, interior zip pocket, a detachable shoulder strap AND comes in a cute striped pattern also.
Be sure to check out the other new items on my website and be sure to sign up to receive emails from me so you’re the first to know when new items come out! I hope you have a great day.
I know I’ve been absent lately and I’m trying to get back to a better schedule for posts, but I wanted to share my weekly favorites with you because this week they are really good😊
Revlon One-Step Volumizer Hair Dryer This is by far one of my favorite purchase in quite some time! It dries and smooth my hair at the same time and unless I’m wanting a super stick straight hair style this is all I have used…no separate straight iron needed and my hair is drying faster too!
Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate This Fall/Winter I have been dealing with drier skin-which is weird because I have always had oily/combo skin. It could be because this winter has been brutally cold or maybe the fact that I just turned 41 (eek!!!) and my skin is changing. Regardless of whatever it may be I started using this oil at night after my retinol and I’ve woken up with softer, smoother, flake-free skin AND I haven’t broken out from it either! It takes such a small amount to cover my face and neck that I think it’s totally worth the price.
Laura Mercier Ambre Vanilla Soufflé Body Cream OMG I wish you could all smell this thru the screen!!!! It smells heavenly and moisturizes my skin so well. I apply it after my shower and the wonderful smell lingers on me all day long.
Tree Hut Body Scrub I love to use a body scrub numerous times a week and have tried many from this brand and they all work really well to exfoliate my body. I saw this one and just had to try it…coffee and mint scented AND firming all in one!!!! My only complaint is that the coffee granules are a title messy in the shower and it takes a little extra effort to get down the drain, but the wonderful coffee scent makes it worth it.
Briogeo Rosarco Milk This leave in conditioning spray is a nice lightweight spray that adds a little extra conditioning to my hair and doesn’t weigh down my hair either.
