Happy Friday!

Happy Friday! I hope you all had a good week. My girls are keeping me busy with sports and school so I’m VERY happy that not only is it Friday, it’s a 3 day weekend 👏🏻. Here are a few things that I wanted to share with you.

Olive & June nail polish has quickly became one of my favorite brands and these colors are perfect for Fall. They have given me a link to share with you for $10 off any $50 purchase Happy shopping and let me know what you get!

Bath & Body Works Apple Weather 3 wick candle. Not only does this candle smell AMAZING it looks beautiful too. This candle is the perfect apple scent with a hint of cinnamon too.

Oatly oat milk. I have drank almond milk for about a year and after hearing how good oat milk was I decided to give this one a try…now it’s my favorite. It blends perfect into my coffee (one of my gripes about almond milk) and leaves no yucky aftertastes at all. I highly recommend you give it a try!

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair I received a sample of this serum and fell in love with it. It feels so lightweight and hydrating on my skin. One dropper full every night has made my skin appear firmer and brighter looking so I will continue to use it!

Okay there are a few of my favorites I wanted to share with you. Let me know in the comments if you have any suggestions of things you love. Have a great weekend!!!

Target Finds!

Good morning! I’m not sure about you, but lately I’ve been trying some new products from Target & have been pleasantly surprised by them. I wanted to share a few with you….

Raw Sugar hand soap. This soap smells soooo good & comes in a few different scents. It doesn’t dry my hands out & it comes in liquid and foam too!

Love Beauty & Planet body lotion. This body lotion is very hydrating & smells amazing. My skin stays hydrated (but not sticky) and the light scent stays on me too.

Goli Apple Cider Vinegar Gummies. I’ve seen these gummies advertised A LOT lately so I did some research to learn more about them. I didn’t realize all of the benefits of apple cider vinegar…better digestion, clearer skin and body detoxifying just to name a few. I decided to give them a try. They taste pretty good (kinda like a soft chewy version of a gummy bear).

Aveeno Stress Relief Body Lotion. This lotion was kinda a funny “stress relief …I’m sold!” purchase 🤣🤣. I love the scent; lavender with chamomile oil! It moisturizes really well & it’s the perfect end of the day relaxing scent after a bath or shower.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream. This face moisturizer I bought for my teen daughter who was getting dry patches because of an acne cream her doctor prescribed. It’s lightweight, moisturizing, doesn’t make her skin oily or cause her to breakout. This worked wonders on her dry patches and it’s unscented too. Perfect!!

Kristin Ess Reconstructive Moisture Mask. This hair mask is just what my hair needed! It helps to soften and moisturize my fine hair and it doesn’t leave it greasy or feeling weighed down.

If you have a favorite Target item that you love I’d love to know what it is so I can check it out. Let me know in the comments.

Have a great day!

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! It was a cold and snowy week here in MO and it’s official that Fall was skipped this year…again! We had a snow day here on Tuesday and I think I’ve been trying to warm up ever since 🙂 but today is Friday and I wanted to share some of my favorites with you!

1. Beautycounter Overnight Resurfacing Peel I have read so many great things about this brand (and in particular this item) , but I’ve used a perscripiton retinol for years so I never gave it another thought. Lately I’ve been reading about skincare and all the bad ingredients that are in it that I decided to try a “clean” skincare item to see how it would work. (I’m still using my retinol, but I use this in place of it every other night.) The claims sound great… brighten, soften and help with skins texture without causing irritation or drying out the skin. As the temps start to change I always deal with my combination skin looking and feeling a little dry so I welcomed the idea of not seeing any dryness on my face that I still seem to experience with retinol. I’ve been using the Overnight Resurfacing Peel every other night followed my moisturizer and I have to say I’m very impressed! My skin feels so soft the next morning and I’ve noticed my skin looks more radiant too. I have acne prone skin and this hasn’t caused me to breakout either. I have found myself excited on the nights I use this to put it on my skin because I know I’m going to wake up with super soft, glowy, hydrated skin! I hightly recommend this!

2. Living Proof Flex Hairspray This hairspray is like hairspray 2.0! I don’t like the way hairspray feels on my hair so I never used it…but when the temps drop my hair gets some crazy static when I put on my winter coat. This hairspray helps that! It doesn’t leave your hair feeling hard at all, can be applied to wet or dry hair and it has heat protection in it too!! I spray it in my towel dried hair, brush it throught and either let it air dry of use my hair dryer. Either way my hair feels soft and I’ve had no static problems! Love it.

3. EVER Whiplash Mascara For those who don’t know; I’m a Stella & Dot Stylist. Our company recently shared some exciting news with us…starting in January 2020 you will be able to purchase EVER Skincare (Stella’s sister company) direct from my website! It’s a very exciting time and I have been doing a ton of research to learn as much as I can about EVER Skincare and makeup! I few of their items have been released to my website for the holidays for me to share with you on my website and I ordered the Whiplash Mascara ASAP! It’s a clean mascara that gives my pale blond barely there lashes both length AND volume! I’m excited to try out more makeup and skincare in the coming months.

Laura Mercier Eyelash Curler I know it looks weird, but this eyelash curler is in my opinion the BEST! I was looking for a link to share with all of you and I had a hard time finding it, so that makes me think it’s been discountinued (gasp!!!) The link I provided is the only place I could find it. It never pinches and curls my tiny pale lashes so well! I’ll check back to see if I find it anywhere else.

4. Ever Spring Liquid Hand Soap I saw this in the holiday section of my Target. I’ve never purchased this brand, but the Winter Citrus & Pine and the Peppermint Clove smelled soooo good I had to give them both a try! The adorable artwork on the bottles was to cute to pass up too! I’m not ready to put out Christmas decor yet (#respecttheturkey) but I’m changing out my soaps ASAP!!!

5. Hallmark Channel Christmas Movies I LOVE watching the Hallmark Channel during the Christmas season! Yes, the movies are predictable, but they are so cozy and always have a happy ending…I’m a sucker for them! My daughters and I will watch them together and I don’t have to worry about any inapropriate stuff either!!!! If you haven’t watched one yet, go for it! The link above has a list of all of them for the rest of 2019.

Let me know what you think of my favorites or if you have a favorite you think I’d like to try! Have a great weekend.

Until Next Time,

Beth

TULA skincare review

UPDATE 8/19/19

I kept hearing such great things about the TULA Pro-Glycolic Resurfacing Gel I decided to give it another try…as you can see from my review below it made me break out…BUT I stuck with it and used it everyday and after day 7 I didn’t experience any more breakouts.  I think this toner was just helping to bring all of the gunk (technically term :)) to the surface.  I have grown to absolutely love this and use it every morning.  My skin feels softer, more pores appear smaller and my skin has a nice glow to it!  I’m so impressed my all of the TULA products I’ve used and I can’t recommend them enough to family and friends!

____________________________________________________________________________________________

A few months ago I started seeing a lot of advertising for TULA skin care. I was intrigued for a few reasons. Mainly because it’s a cleaner skincare brand that uses probiotics and superfoods and DOES NOT contain any parabens, toxins, mineral oil, sulfates or harmful preservatives. I started doing some research and decided to buy a few items to try out. For reference I’m 41 (eek), combination skin and I breakout easily. Here are my honest thoughts on the products I bought.

  1. Glow & Get It Cooling and Brightening Eye Balm  I love how cooling this stick is when I apply it.  I still use an eye cream, but I apply this before I put on my primer.  It is in a stick form and gives my undereye area a slight illuminating look.  The directions say it can be applied over makeup too, but I found it made my under eye area looked cakey so I’ll stick to putting it on before makeup or even on no makeup days. (This keeps selling out on their website, but it has been getting restocked pretty fast so be sure to check back if it is.)
  2. Purifying Facial Cleanser  I’ve been using this in the morning and I like how gentle it feels and the smell is light and fresh (love it!).  My face feels clean, but not dry and a little goes a long way!
  3. Aqua Infusion Oil-Free Gel Cream  I have combo skin and I thought this would be great for my skin (lightweight, fast absorbing), but when I used this my skin felt like it need a little more moisture.  I think the cold temps we have continued to have here in the Midwest might have a lot to do with it so I’ll give it a try when the weather gets warmer.  My daughters found it in my bathroom and really like it though so I think I’ll have to go search in their bathroom when the temperature starts to rise so I can try it again:)
  4. Exfoliating Treatment Mask WOW-that’s the first word that comes to mind about this mask!  From the first time I used it I knew I’d love it.  My skin feels so soft and clean after I remove this mask, but not tight and dry.  I use it 2-3 times a week and seriously look forward to using it!
  5. Pro-Glycolic Resurfacing Gel I have mixed feelings about this toner.  I haven’t used a toner in years and I kept reading articles about how important toner is and all of the anti-aging benefits they provide, so I decided to give it a try… but every time I use this toner my face breaks out!  I think I’ll check their website to see if they have another toner option I can try. (PLEASE SEE UPDATE ABOVE)
  6. Hydrating Day and Night Cream  Well, the name pretty much sums this moisturizer up!  This is what I tried afer the Gel Cream (see above) didn’t seem to provide enough moisture for my skin.  It’s lightweight, but moisturizing and it just makes my skin look and feel good!  I use it in the morning and at night after I apply my retinol.

I have started a list of other TULA products I’d like to try, but so far I’ve loved 5/6 of the items I’ve used.  Have you tried any of their products?  I’d love to know what you tried and your thoughts- let me know!

Until next time-

Beth

Weekly Favorites!!

I know I’ve been absent lately and I’m trying to get back to a better schedule for posts, but I wanted to share my weekly favorites with you because this week they are really good😊

Revlon One-Step Volumizer Hair Dryer This is by far one of my favorite purchase in quite some time! It dries and smooth my hair at the same time and unless I’m wanting a super stick straight hair style this is all I have used…no separate straight iron needed and my hair is drying faster too!

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate This Fall/Winter I have been dealing with drier skin-which is weird because I have always had oily/combo skin. It could be because this winter has been brutally cold or maybe the fact that I just turned 41 (eek!!!) and my skin is changing. Regardless of whatever it may be I started using this oil at night after my retinol and I’ve woken up with softer, smoother, flake-free skin AND I haven’t broken out from it either! It takes such a small amount to cover my face and neck that I think it’s totally worth the price.

Laura Mercier Ambre Vanilla Soufflé Body Cream OMG I wish you could all smell this thru the screen!!!! It smells heavenly and moisturizes my skin so well. I apply it after my shower and the wonderful smell lingers on me all day long.

Tree Hut Body Scrub I love to use a body scrub numerous times a week and have tried many from this brand and they all work really well to exfoliate my body. I saw this one and just had to try it…coffee and mint scented AND firming all in one!!!! My only complaint is that the coffee granules are a title messy in the shower and it takes a little extra effort to get down the drain, but the wonderful coffee scent makes it worth it.

Briogeo Rosarco Milk This leave in conditioning spray is a nice lightweight spray that adds a little extra conditioning to my hair and doesn’t weigh down my hair either.

I hope you all have a great weekend!

616d7126bfb18e06ab6e8f5d98a6c69d_bestLaura Mercier – Shadows & Brights Metallic Caviar Stick Eye Colour Collection   I’ve wanted to try these cream shadows and I think the pretty metallic finish they have will be perfect for upcoming holiday parties.

Philosopy Purity Cleanser   This cleanser is my favorite!  I use this (actually my hubby & two daughters do too!)  It gently enough for my daughters sensitive skin, but also removes my makeup at the end of the day!

Charlotte Tilbury’s Party Girl Kit   I think this kit is a great way to try a few different things from Charlotte Tilbury.  I’ve heard so many people say how great her makeup is and this is a great way to try it out!

Bumble and bumble – Happy Hairdays Volume + Texture Trio  I decided to give this a try after noticing my hair was starting to look thin and flat and I’m very happy with it.  The shampoo has a nice clean sent and make my hair feel thicker.  The texture spray is a nice way to finish off my hair and helps give it a nice extra lift! This is a great way to try out these products and would be nice for travel.

Dyson – Supersonic Hair Dryer  I have heard so many wonderful things about this hairdryer from Dyson!  It claims to dry hair faster and cause less damage to hair…oh and it helps promote smooth, shiny hair.

Okay so there are a few things I found online.  Some are products that I’ve used and there are a few new things in there too!  What are you getting from the Sephora sale?

Have a great weekend!

Cold weather skincare favorites!

Happy Friday!  Here in the Midwest we have started getting some cooler temps and my skin has a tendency to get dry in the winter so I wanted to share with you what I use to help prevent that from happening.  What I’m sharing with you today are products that I have used for a few years and really have helped my skin stay hydrated during the cooler months.

fullsizeoutput_29db

  1.  Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Body Butter  This is the most hydrating body butter I have ever used!  It moisturizes my skin, but doesn’t feel greasy and absorbs into my skin really fast.  It comes in unscented (which is truly unscented!) and a few other scent too.
  2. Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil  I have oily/combo skin which breaks out very easily and my face loves this stuff!  It sinks in right away and leaves no oily residue at all.  A little bit goes a long way so this bottle will last awhile.  I also use it on my the ends of my hair, my cuticles and I have even used it on my dogs coats and let me tell you, they both have beautiful fur:)
  3. Aquaphor Lip Repair  I have spent a lot of money on lip balms in a ton of different price ranges and I ALWAYS come back to this one!  I reach for it everyday and it keeps my lips from getting dry.  It moisturizes and keeps my lips looking hydrated and the price tag of under $5.00 is pretty amazing too!
  4. Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Foot Cream  I have a slight obsession with making sure my feet are well moisturized before I go to bed and this cream does the job.  Sometimes I’ll even layer it on a little thick, throw a pair of socks on and climb in bed.  In the morning my feet feel sooooo soft!

Okay, that wraps up my top items to keep me from getting scaly!

I hope you all have a great weekend.

Beauty Finds at Macy’s

I don’t know about you, but I love a good deal!  Free gifts with purchase and extra perks seems to always push me from “I don’t really need anything” to checking the shipping status on a daily basis to see if my stuff has shipped!  (Please tell me I’m not the only person that does this!!!)  Anyway, while on Macy’s website I came across some really good beauty deals I wanted to share with you!

First up Peter Thomas Roth.  With any $50 Peter Thomas Roth purchase you can receive a free 1.7 oz. Pumpkin Enzyme Mask.

Free Pumpkin Enzyme Mask with any $50.00 PTR purchase ($42 value)

Might I suggest trying the Peter Thomas Roth 24K Gold Pure Luxury Lift and Firm Hydra-Gel Eye Patches.  I’ve never tried these, but I’ve heard really good things about them.  Another item I suggest is Peter Thomas Roth Irish Moor Mud.  I have combination skin and this charcoal based mask works so well with my skin.  It helps to pull out impurities in the skin and minimizing my pores.  My skin feels so soft and hydrating when I’m done.

Next up is Clinique.  They are having a Purchase with Purchase (with any $29.50 purchase you can get their “Best of Clinique” set for $49.50 (a $197 value).  This “Best of” set includes 7 items and a pretty traincase.

“Best of Clinique” set $49.50 w/ any $29.50 purchase ($197 value)

One of my top favorites from Clinique that I recommend is their  All About Eyes.  I love this eye cream!  It’s not too heavy and wears well under my makeup.  Another favorite of mine is their Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate.  This Moisture Surge Concentrate has been a HUGE help with my skin during the colder weather.  Since the temperature’s have been dropping I’ve been using this and it keeps my skin hydrated and flake free, but doesn’t make me feel oily.   I’m also a huge fan of their Pop lip colors  This Pop Party set has 6 colors that would make a perfect holiday gift and includes everything from pinks to nude shades.

There are so really good gift sets out right now with Bobbi Brown!  This Satin & Caviar Eye Shadow & Eyeliner Party Ready Palette is just great.  It comes with 3 eye shadows and their iconic gel liner (which is awesome btw!) AND a double-sided brush.  The other set that caught my attention was the 5 Piece Instant Pretty Party Ready Set.  This set comes with almost everything you need to get ready and I have to say I LOVE the blush duo and again gel eye liner too!
