Apple Cake

Isn’t this just the cutest little apple:)

Hello:)  Today I want to share one of my favorite desserts that I like to make in the Fall.  (Last week I was talking about making this too!) This cake is so yummy and has been one of my favorite desserts ever since my mom would make it when I was a little girl.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!  It’s pretty easy to make (the most time consuming thing is cutting up the apples) and your house will smell SOOOOO good while it’s baking… so worth it!

Okay so here’s what you’ll need…

Apple Cake

1 1/2 c. sugar

1 c. oil (I used Canola)

2 tsp. vanilla

2 eggs (beaten)

1 tsp. cinnamon

3/4 tsp. salt

3 c. flour

1 1/4 tsp. baking soda

3 c. apples (peeled & chopped)

1-2 tsp. powdered sugar (optional for top)

Combine sugar, oil, vanilla, eggs and salt in mixing bowl.  Beat until combined.  Mix flour, baking soda and cinnamon in separate bowl and then combine with first mixture.  Stir in apples.  Scoop mixture into a greased tube or bundt pan (it will be thick).

Bake at 325 degrees for about 1 1/2 hrs. or until cake tester comes out clean.

And here is the finished product.  This cake is yummy served alone or with a light dusting of powdered sugar on top too!  Enjoy.

Until next time!

Fall favorites from Target

I’m sure a lot of you can understand what it’s like to go to Target for one thing and come out with a cart full…happends to me all the time! I thought I’d share a few of my top picks.

1. The Small Gold Pumpkin and 2. Large Gold Pumpkin are both really beautiful.  These both look so pretty mixed in with my white pumpkins and look perfect on my entry table.

3.  This Fall Wall Hanging is really cute and it was only $5.00!!!  This wooden sign could either be hung on the wall or leaned up against your fireplace surrounded by pumpkins (what I did)!

4. This Thankful Platter in white with the gold lettering is simply elegant and goes perfectly with the gold pumpkins I talked about above.

5.  This Gray Plaid Table Runner is the perfect blend of all of the colors I like to decorate with this time of year…simply perfect!

6. This Two-Toned Cutting Board is so cute on my kitchen counter with a candle on it!  I know it’s meant for food, but I like it so much I don’t think I want to get it dirty:)

These are just a few of the really cute items I found at Target.  I seriously could have shared 50 more, but I narrowed it down to just these…for now!!

Until next time, have a great day!

My favorite”Fall Transition” picks… Evereve edition!

Earlier this week I posted a few of my favorites from Loft. Today I’m telling you about a few of my favorite picks from Evereve.

  1. This Slit V Tee is a nice play on a basic tee.  It comes in charcoal (shown above) and olive green.
  2. This Gingersnap Sweater is so pretty!  I don’t know which I like more, the beautiful color or the fun sleeves!
  3.  This Piper Mesh V Tee is another play on a basic tee.  The mesh overlay is so pretty-this would be perfect for date night or drinks with the girls!
  4.  These Biker Skinny w/ Zippers are such a nice change from basic skinny jeans.  The zipper details are great!
  5.  This Floral Bell Sleeve Top is one of my favorites!  I love the shades of blue in this 3/4 length top and the lace up neckline is great.
  6.  This Leopard Jacquard Coat is so cute!  I own nothing like this and I love the length of it.

So there you go, a few items that caught my attention from Evereve.  If you haven’t shopped with them before I highly recommend you check them out.  They have many brands that I like and have shoes and accessories too…oh and be sure to check out there sale section too!

Have a great day!

My favorite “transition to Fall” picks…LOFT edition!

I woke up this morning to 60 degree temperatures and I was ready to pull out the jeans and sweaters!  I know I should wait a few weeks since the temp are bound to go back up so I thought I’d share some of my top picks from LOFT for transitioning your wardrobe to Fall.

I LOVE that this sweater is cotton, not wool (which can make my skin itch).

These jeans have a great frayed cuff hem that will go great with either flats or heels.

Sateen Utility Jacket

This jacket looks great.  I love the zipper closure and all of the great details.  This gray color is a great shade too.

Peony Ruffle Tie Neck Dress

This dress is rocking the floral trend I keep reading about.  You could pair this with either a jean jacket or sweater for those cooler evening temps.

Sleeveless Coatigan

I think this “coatigan” is a great idea for temps that seem to start cooler and rise a bit during the day.  I love how this is paired with a striped shirt and would look great with the cuffed jeans shown above.

Cold Shoulder Mixed Media Sweater

I don’t have a lot of the cold shoulder tops, but I like this one.  I think the round neck and ribbed cuffs looks really good together and navy is one of my favorite colors.

Okay, so those are a few items that caught my attention.  I’d love to know what you liked or what you found that your excited about wearing as the temps start to cool down.

Have a great day!
