So this week my girls are back to school & although I’m bummed that summer break is over, I realized I feel more organized during the school year. (I didn’t realize how much a routine helps me get my “to do” list done!) This morning I took their school calender and put everything in my calander. (Yikes there are a lot of days to remember!!!) I know there are a ton of places online to get personalized planners with fun stickers and custom layouts, but I picked up this 12 month planner from Target for under $11.00 & I like it! The monthly layout has plenty of room to write multiple things on each day and was exactly what I look for. I liked the pretty purple and pink color, but this one with blues and greens is a close second!
My older daughter also wanted a planner for school so I got her an academic planner for her. They had a ton of adorable options that she liked. They are the perfectly sized to easily fit in her backpack and they were all under $9.00!
This is just a start, but I think it’s a very important part of being organized. I use my phone calender too, but I still like to see everything on paper also…is anyone else like that? Also, I picked up the larger size for myself (8.5 x 11) and a smaller more compact size for my older daughter (8.5 x 6.25) which is perfect for her to slip into a front pocket of her backpack.
I hope you all have a great day. If you have some good back to school organization tips I’d love for you to share them.
I don’t know about you, but I love learning about new things that other people have had luck with so here are a few items that I’ve been really liking…
Peter Thomas Roth Skin To Die For This primer ROCKS! I can 100% tell a difference from the way my foundation wears when I have this on. It helps my foundation wear longer, blurs my pores and helps control the shine I usually get a few hours into my day. I highly recommend this to anyone who is
Supergoop Defense Refresh Setting Mist This setting spray is the perfect way to set my makeup during the hot weather we have had here in St. Louis and I love that it has SPF 50 also. This is also nice to use on my daughters too after they have been in and out of the pool and hasn’t caused any breakouts of any of our skin. I have the travel size which is perfect for my pool bag!
First let me apologize for the lack of posts I’ve had. I needed to take a break and refocus what I want my blog to be. I’m feeling refreshed and full of ideas I want to share so please hang in there….cause I’m back:)
I love the beginning of a new month. It is sort of a “reboot” to refocus what I want to accomplish, improve or even stop doing. I wanted to share my goals for August and I’d love to know what your goals are too.
Excercise. This summer I’ve gotten WAY off track with working out and I realize that I feel better (both inside and out) when I exercise. I have no excuses or anyone else to blame but myself. I’m getting back to it starting today; whether it’s going to the gym or taking a walk around the neighborhood I’m forcing myself to do it and in no time it will again be part of my routine and not something I’m forcing myself to do.
Meal Planning. I don’t know about you, but I get the “what’s for dinner?” question by noon just about every day and I get annoyed by it. Annoyed because I’ve gotten out of my routine of planning my dinners out ahead of time and putting off going to the grocery store with a list and instead running in to grab just a few things to make dinner that night. I admit I really dislike going to the grocery store (anybody else with me???), but the “I’ll just run in without a list and grab a few things” has to stop!! I not only feel really unorganized, but I end of spending more money since I don’t have a list or preplanned meal ideas. This morning I made a grocery list and let me tell you…my shopping trip was much easier (the Starbucks I grabbed beforehand didn’t hurt either!!!).
Taking care of my nails. I know, this might sound really silly to some but my nails are in need of TLC-big time!!! My cuticles need some help and a coat of polish always makes me feel more put together so that’s my plan for tomorrow.
Well, there you have it! 3 goals that I have for the month. All of these should be pretty easy to complete…fingers crossed! Let me know what goals you have for the month, I’d love to know what they are.
I hope you all had a good week! It’s been a busy few weeks for me so I apologize for my lack of posts! Spring Break and A LOT of school events has taken up a big chunk of my time. Today my kiddos don’t have school and the rain in St. Louis finally let up (seriously I think it’s rained for a good 5 day straight!). The sun came out today too so I was happy I got to take my sweet puppy Mr. Henry for a nice walk this morning. I wanted to share a few of my favorites with you like this dress that I bought to wear on Easter from the Loft.
Unfortunately the temperature for Easter where I live are going to be the 30’s with a chance of snow (boo hoo) so I guess I’ll have to throw on a sweater too!
I also picked up a new self tanning mousse from Ulta since I’ll be wearing a dress this weekend and my skin could use a little hint of color! It has really good reviews so I decided to give it a try.
I have fair skin so a choose the medium shade, but it comes in a dark shade also. This mousse has such a light scent that I couldn’t even smell it 10 minutes after I applied it & spread really easy. I used this mitt to apply it…
This is my first time using a mitt to apply self tanner and I have to tell you I really liked it. Overall my experience with this self tanning mousse and mitt were great and I would definitely recommend it.
So last week I shared some of my favorite tops from LOFT for Spring and today I wanted to share a few of my favorite Spring dresses from LOFT. They have so many new dresses that I had a hard time narrowing it down, but I did! What I really like about the dresses I’m sharing is that they are really versatile. They can be dressed up with strappy heels and even a sweater OR they can be paired with a denim jacket and sandals for a great daytime look.
Lacy Floral Flare Dress This dress is my top pick. The sweet floral print is something I’ve usually avoided (I’m usually not into prints), but I fell in love with this dress when I saw it. The lacy details and flowy look hasme ready for warmer temps!
Lace Flutter Dress This is the dressiest of the group & just a beautiful shade of purplish grey! I love the lace and those fluttery cap sleeves…adorable! This dress would be perfect to wear to a wedding paired with some strappy nude heels…perfection!
It’s almost that time…swim season…eeek!!! I’ve been looking for a cover-up that neutral enough to work with all of my swimsuits and I found a couple that I really like and guess what??? They are ALL under $60.00!!!! I found a few different styles that are really great for all body types.
My favorite one is the this one ↑↑↑↑↑↑ for sure! The cold shoulders and pretty colors down the front looks so pretty! I think all of these cover-ups would the perfect way to be pool or beach ready and stylish at the same time. With the great price point I think I might have to grab two!
Good Afternoon! Today Stella & Dot released their March arrivals and they don’t disappoint! For those of you who don’t know, I became a Stella & Dot stylist late last year and I’m really happy with me decision. They have such a large assortment of jewelry options for everyone, an assortment of travel bags and purses AND they now sell tops!!! I can’t wait to receive what I have ordered and wanted to share the new collection with you. Here is the collection that was released today. Let me know if you have any questions or have an interest in having an online party (the host perks are GREAT!).
Today I wanted to share some cute, affordable tops that are perfect for Spring and are really versatile. Floral prints are really big this time of year and although I’m usually a solids over prints type of girl I’m going to give it a try! Here are some of my favorites I saw online from Loft. If you have a favorite let me know in the comments below:)
This is one of my favorite guides to put together! I really LOVE finding new products and sharing some that I have and really like. I hope this beauty guide helps you out this holiday season! Happy Shopping!!!
Happy Saturday! Today I wanted to share my gift guide for ladies. I picked a few things that I already own and truly love and a few items that I’d love to receive as gifts. I hope this helps you out if your needing some ideas!
