I wanted to share a really quick and easy recipe I made this weekend. I used peaches, but any fruit could be used. Oh, and I forgot to tell you it only has 4 ingredients (I forgot to take a picture of the vanilla extract…oops!).
1 box yellow cake mix
1 29 oz. can of peaches in heavy syrup (cherries would be a good option too)
1 stick of butter, thinly sliced
1/8 tsp. vanilla extract
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Spread canned peaches and syrup on the bottom of 9×13 glass baking dish. Add vanilla extract to peaches and stir. Sprinkle the cake mix over the peaches evenly. Place the thin slices of butter evenly over the top of the cake mix. Bake for 45-50 minutes (or until top is slightly browned). Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream (the way my family likes it) or serve alone.
